Eudora Setup and configuration
To
install Eudora Light v1.54 simply
use the following screen shots as an example template. The following
example illustrates a typical setup where the domain name is ACME.COM,
and the user name or POP3 mail account is INFO.
The three (3) things you must know to configure the Eudora Light
v1.54 program are:
Options
can be found within Eudora Light v1.54 by Clicking on menu item
Tools, then Options.
- In the Getting
Started section of the Options the POP Account should
be info%acme.com@mail.compuweb.com.
If you wanted your mail account to be jdoe@acme.com then your
POP Account would be jdoe%acme.com@mail.compuweb.com.
Note:
This part of the setup is not case sensitive.
Eudora is unique to other programs that do not require that
you combine the pop user with the pop host. Also, this
Eudora setup is the same through Eudora's version 3.0 and changes
with Eudora v4.0 or later.
- In the Hosts
section of the Options the SMTP should be mail.compuweb.com
- In the Checking
Mail section of the Options the Authentication
style selection should be passwords.
- Of course, the Real
Name question can be filled in however you decide you would
like people to identify you, your return address should be your
email address as you would like others to see it. In this case,
the E-Mail address would be Info@ACME.COM. Others would be able
to send EMail by typing Info@ACME.COM.
- You
will need to know your POP3 User Account Password.
The Password is specific to your account.
- Compuweb also supports
the new IMAP4 standard available in Eudora's release version
4 or greater.
- Changes to your
mail account can be made by accessing the Web-Based Messaging System
at:
http://mail.compuweb.com/ . Enter
your username and password, and click continue on the following
screen.
Note:
Your Web-Based Messaging username is always the full email address
of the email account you are trying to access. Example:
If your email address is info@acme.com, then your username would
be info@acme.com.
